In the summer of 1964, the Millard Jaycees hosted an afternoon barbcue in the park to celebrate a successful charter year. Now over 50 years later, Millard Days is a full week of activities, including a parade, a car show, a carnival, a beer garden featuring live music, and a family fun day. The West Papio Trail Project is a joint effort by the City of Omaha, the Natural Resources District, and various civic organizations to develop recreational facilities and a biking/hiking trail along the West Papio Creek from Lake Zorinsky to the Millard Airport. Millard Day's donation of over $15,000 enabled to the completion of the first leg of the trail has been completed from Millard Avenue north through Westchester Park.
